Built in 1856 as a summer residence for Hamilton Hoppin of New York, a businessman, and scion of a prominent Rhode Island family, it was converted to an Inn in 1984. In 1996, The Hamilton Hoppin House was registered and placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The property is located just off one of the primary roads serving Aquidneck Island, and within minutes of downtown Newport and its wonderful beaches, historic sights, and renowned dining. 


Our versatile mansion can also host a variety of indoor and outdoor events such as weddings, private chef dinners, wedding rehearsal dinners, wedding showers and much more.
